A |     Wellington, Oct 12 (UNI) New Zealand will implement new measures to protect its 15,000 or so Hector's dolphins from impacts of fishing on South Island.

"We need to work to reduce the number of these dolphins killed by fishing to as close to zero as possible," Oceans and Fisheries Minister David Parker said on Wednesday.

Hector's dolphins, mostly found around the coast of New Zealand's South Island, are one of the world's smallest dolphins. Their bodies are grey with black and white markings. They have a distinctive rounded dorsal fin that looks like one of Mickey Mouse's ears.

The suite of measures already in force includes an extension of the commercial and recreational set net closures around the Banks Peninsula. The government now wants to end the accidental catch of Hector's dolphins, he said.

It will be aided by the introduction of new tech like onboard cameras, real-time catch reporting and monitoring of commercial vessel location allowing the authorities to better protect these dolphins, Parker said.

UNI/XINHUA ING。    New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has relaxed the condition of fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) for sanction of building plan for residential properties.

As per the new rule, no NOC will be required from Delhi Fire Service in the case of sanction of building plans of residential building consisting of Ground Floor plus three additional floors with stilts for parking having, overall maximum height of 17.5 meters, the Civic agency in a statement stated.

MCD has taken this decision after the recent judgment passed by the Supreme Court and clarification rendered by Delhi Fire Service. Before this, obtaining prior NOC from the Fire Department was mandatory for the sanction of residential building plans. However, MCD has clarified that the new relaxation rule shall not apply to those residential buildings, wherein stilt is not proposed by the applicants, it stated.

MCD said this expedient relaxation to the public will abridge the approval-processing of such building sanction cases. Citizens may avail the benefit by submitting the applications for sanction of residential buildings plan in the above manner, without submission of NOC of fire department, it added.
